I hear this all the time – my backups are taking too long (alternative – my backups are too slow).
Most of the time, the backups take too long because of the massive amounts of data the people back up. Why are we backing up so much data now? Well, it’s because we store more – and one of the reason we can store so much more data is because storage is cheap.
