I’ve been off the grid for the past couple of weeks — because I got married!
I married Brian Rosenthal on 10-10-10.
Here are answers to the questions everyone keeps asking:
- We chose 10-10-10 as the date because its a binary number, and the decimal representation is 42. We are geeks.
- The geek stuff we did at the wedding included my bouquet being wrapped in blue terrycloth (a towel..), the groom’s cake having a whale and broken bowl of petunias on it, I walked down the aisle to the Princess Bride theme and we walked out to the Star Wars throne room music.
- We got married on the beach in the Florida panhandle because that is where I grew up.
- I’m changing my name, since Minks was actually my first husband’s name
- Brian also works for EMC Education, he manages the people who do the readiness training for Symmetrix and Ionix products (as well as DPA, RM, mainframe….).
- Forgot the reception!! We played the Portal credits song when we cut the cakes, and had a big Facebook status changing announcement (and the DJ played Queen’s You’re my best friend). Hahhah both of those were pretty hilarious. 🙂
The wedding was great, pretty much stress-free. I am sure this is because of the great planner we hired! Janet-Marie at Florida Dream Weddings really made everything come together quite nicely. She had no idea why we wanted the things we wanted (geeky stuff), but she listened to us and made it work. Get a wedding planner, it will help you have a fun and relaxed wedding day.
So what’s next? Back to work! I had time to really reflect on things while I was off the grid, look for some blog posts in the next few days on the difference between doing social marketing and doing social media. Oh and also an after-party in New England in the spring. 😉
A lovely post Gina. Many thanks for the update as I’ve missed your tweets on Twitter.
May you and Brian share many years of love and happiness.
Judith
Welcome back! I love the picture!
CONGRATS! Great picture and great post.
Thanks everyone! I updated the post because I forgot the silly things we did at the reception. Good times! 🙂
Major congrats to the both of you, and the answer to life, the universe, and everything!
