This was a crazy week news-wise here in the US. I was very happy to have labwork to dive into, and I’ll be even happier when I can share some of the posts I’m writing for work. 🙂
I’m also pretty impressed by everyone’s heartfelt responses to the US elections. However, lots of y’all stayed on top of the tech news, thank you! Here’s what caught my eye this week:
- Alistair Croll unpacks how IT must be measured differently if you hope to build an adaptive, connected business (long but a very good read!). And yes, I’m already pondering how this is tied to monitoring.
- On the Software Gone Wild podcast (via Ivan Pepelnjak), they talked about Becoming a Programmer. This podcast is from the networking point of view, so different than mine so it’s very interesting. I love hearing how people get to where they are in their careers. Where did you start? Also, I know lots of people from the enterprise side who have moved to devops. Network people, sheesh. 😉
- XKCD needs to shut the hell up.
- Glen Alleman has a great post about the “Agile Cannon“, aka how to scale being agile. His blog Herding Cats has been one of my favorites for years!
- Scott Lowe makes my list again with a really nice how-to for VirtualBox.
- Rick Scherer posted a list of VMware KB articles for the week.
- I had to read Enrico Signoretti’s post just for the title: Serverless enabled storage? It’s a big deal. It’s an intriguing post.
- My SolarWinds teammate James Honey has a great post on when to move to flash storage, and what to move there.
- How-to encrypt your entire life in less than an hour
